Texas Dealers Welcome NIADA BHPH Dealer Forum to Austin

More than 150 independent automobile dealers from across the country gathered in Austin November 1–3 for the 2026 NIADA Buy Here, Pay Here (BHPH) Dealer Forum. Held at the JW Marriott Austin, the three-day event brought together dealers, including a strong showing of TIADA members, for education, networking and the exchange of ideas.

The forum featured educational sessions, industry discussions and dealer-led roundtables focused on the challenges and opportunities facing BHPH and Lease Here, Pay Here (LHPH) operations. Topics included underwriting, collections, inventory management, access to capital and other areas critical to dealership success.

The event's roundtable format was particularly valuable, providing an opportunity for meaningful dealer-to-dealer interaction. Dealers were able to discuss everyday challenges, compare approaches and learn directly from others operating similar businesses.

Texas dealers also played an important role in this year's program. Four TIADA member dealerships, Texas Auto Center, Third Coast Auto Group, Discovery Auto Sales and Chacon Autos, opened their doors for dealership site visits. These tours gave attendees an opportunity to see Texas BHPH operations firsthand and learn how fellow dealers manage different aspects of their businesses.

TIADA also had something to celebrate during the forum's closing session, as TIADA President Russell Moore won NIADA's Best Idea Contest. His winning idea focused on using Grok AI bots as digital employees, highlighting an innovative approach to incorporating technology into dealership operations.

For TIADA, hosting a national industry event in Austin provided a welcome opportunity to connect with members and independent dealers from across the country. The forum reinforced the value of dealers sharing their experiences, learning from one another and building relationships within the industry.

TIADA thanks NIADA for bringing a well-executed event to Texas and recognizes the TIADA members who helped make this year's forum a success.
