Dealers See Dramatic Benefits from NIADA CPO Program
Earlier this year NIADA launched a Certified Pre-Owned Program designed for independent dealers and backed by a warranty from Warrantech. Dealers participating in the program have already seen dramatic results, increasing sales and turning inventory quicker. Two DFW area dealers recently launched the CPO program at their dealerships.
Chris Johnson of 6th Gear Auto Sales said sales have grown over 40% in the three months since his dealership began participating in the program.
“We are used to selling 20 to 25 vehicles a month,” Johnson recalled. “Now we are in the 40s. Additionally, this has helped me turn my inventory much quicker. I used to have a 75 to 85-day turn. Now I am between 45 and 55 days.”
Shane Collins, General Manager of RLB Sales and Leasing echoed these sentiments.
“The certified program has been invaluable to RLB, doubling our production in just over 30 days,” Collins said.
Both dealers said the program contributed to this success by allowing them to better market to potential customers.
“We've had nothing but positive feedback from our customers,” Collins said. “It brings so much transparency to a process that at times seems so overwhelming to them. It really gives them peace of mind.”
“Most customers are already educated on certified programs because of the franchise dealers,” Johnson explains. “Once a customer sees how thoroughly we check our cars out, they let their guard down a bit. ‘Oh you're just like a franchise dealer' they will say. Basically, it's the best marketing package I have ever come across in my 25 years. Not only can I compete with the franchise dealers, I can now beat them.”
“It truly sets us apart from our competition,” echoed Collins.
